Kairo collects nothing.
This policy covers the Kairo Android app (in.rishishah.kairo) and this website.
Data the app collects
None. Kairo has no account system, no servers, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting and no AI services. The app has no internet permission, so it cannot transmit data.
Data stored on your phone
Focus sessions, tasks, notes, daily check-ins and settings are stored only on your device, in a database encrypted with AES-256 (SQLCipher). The key is kept in the Android Keystore. Android's automatic cloud backup is disabled for Kairo.
Backups and exports
Backups are created only when you ask, or on a schedule you turn on. They are encrypted with your password (AES-256-GCM) and saved to a location you choose, such as a cloud storage folder. That provider's own privacy policy applies to files you store there. Markdown and CSV exports are not encrypted and are saved only where you choose.
Permissions
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Notifications | Tell you when a session or break ends, and the optional daily check-in reminder. |
| Vibration | Haptic feedback (can be turned off). |
| Run at startup | Re-schedules your reminders after the phone restarts. |
Sharing
Share cards are images created on your phone. They're only sent when you choose an app in Android's share sheet.
Children
Kairo doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children.
This website
This site uses no cookies, no analytics and no third-party fonts or scripts. Your hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and time) for security.
Deleting your data
Uninstall Kairo or clear its storage in Android settings. Delete any backup files you made from where you saved them.
